Sweet and Salty Grilled  Pork Chops



It's grilling season! We think you will find this tasty Asian-inspired recipe with a richly flavorful dipping sauce a great addition to your grill menu.  



  • 2 Harper Valley Ranch bone-in sirloin chops

  • 1 can of sliced pineapple

  • 1/2 low sodium soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup Sake

  • 1/4 honey

  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Chinese 5-spice powder

  • 1 2-inch piece fresh ginger finely minced

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced



  • Combine all ingredients except the ginger, garlic, and chops, and blend until smooth. Pour into a saucepan, add the ginger and garlic. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for about 3 minutes.

  • Pour the sauce into a dish suitable for marinating your chops and allow it to cool.

  • ​Add the pork chops and coat both sides. 

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, overnight is great.

  • Remove the pork chops from the marinade shaking off the excess sauce and allow the meat to come to room temperature.

  • Grill at medium heat until cooked, about 10 minutes.

  • Grill remaining pineapple slices for a couple of minutes.

  • Place remaining marinade in a saucepan and cook until it thickens

  • Remove from the grill and allow the pork chops to rest for 5 minutes.

  • Serve with the sauce and grilled pineapple slices.
